Epichlorohydrin (ECH)
Epichlorohydrin (ECH), a key intermediate chemical, is produced at our facility with a capacity of 50,000 TPA. We employ a Green process using glycerine as the primary raw material. This closed-loop technology is seamlessly integrated with our chlor-alkali operations, utilising by-products efficiently.
How it’s made
ECH is produced through a two-step process. Bio-based Glycerine reacts with hydrochloric acid (HCl) to form dichloropropanol (DCH), which subsequently undergoes dehydrochlorination to yield ECH. This clear, colourless liquid's unique molecular structure allows for diverse chemical reactions.
